Volunteers Needed for First Night Akron 2012

First Night Akron needs volunteers to lend a helping hand on Saturday, December 31, 2011. Volunteers are a critical part of the celebration that rings in the New Year and showcases the arts to the community. First Night volunteers hold a variety of responsibilities including greeting guests, checking for admission buttons, introducing performing artists, assisting with hands-on activities, acting as bus hosts and much more!

Volunteers are admitted free to all performances and sites before or after their scheduled shift. Friends, families, couples and groups are encouraged to volunteer together. Volunteers receive a special volunteer ribbon to wear at the event, as well as an invitation to the annual Volunteer Party held in January.

Volunteers are essential to First Night's success. They are the face of First Night, wishing guests a Happy New Year and helping direct them to their next destination. Volunteer applications are available at www.firstnightakron.org or contact the First Night volunteer coordinator, Jane Startzman at 330-535-3179 or by e-mail at jstartzman@akroncivic.com.
