Music for Every Taste at First Night® Akron 2009

Akron, Ohio - From Blues to Classical, Modern Rock to Christian and everything in between, First Night Akron has music for every taste.

Here are just a few examples of the array of wonderful artists performing at First Night Akron 2009 on Wednesday,
December 31.
 
Aquarius Rising is an exciting, summer of love pop rock orchestra that delivers an entertaining visual display, as well
as an alluring musical journey. Hear their music at the John S. Knight Center on the Main Floor from 5:30-6:15, 6:30-
7:15 and 7:30-8 p.m.
 
With her adult contemporary and traditional gospel music Bonnie Baughman is entertainment for all ages. Her
straight-from-the-heart music will be performed at Zion Lutheran in the Sanctuary from 5-5:45 and 6-6:30 p.m.
 
Playing at the first ever First Night teen venue is Chil, a four-person band ages 11-13 that will show off their talent with
popular hits from bands such as Green Day, Switchfoot, Bink-182, Plain White T's and many more. Chil will perform
from 5:30-6 and 6:15-6:45 p.m. at the Landmark Building.
 
The University of Akron Steel Drum Band will perform Caribbean music in both an interactive and ensemble
performance. Listen to these highly-acclaimed performers in the UA Polsky Building from 8-9, 9:30-10:15 and 10:30-
11:30 p.m.
 
End the night at the Mainstage with First Night favorite Colin Dussault's Blues Project. Mainstage revelers will enjoy
this award-winning, harmonic driven, blues based roots rock 'n' soul band from 9:30-10:30 and 11-11:45 p.m.

Now in its thirteenth year, First Night Akron is a New Year's Eve celebration unlike any other! This family-friendly,
alcohol-free celebration of the New Year brings the community together to experience a brief moment in time while
creating lasting New Year's Eve memories. Entertainment and fun featuring music, dance, theater, visual and
interactive arts will delight everyone throughout 18 different venues in downtown Akron! For a complete schedule of

$10 and children under 10 are admitted FREE when accompanied by a button-wearing adult. Buttons are on sale at
