Visit Holidayfest Lock 3 on Saturday, December 31 for ice skating from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Skate rental is $3 for skates with toddler rentals free when supplies are available. Decorate your own Gingerbread cookie for $2 in the Kinderzone from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Take a ride on the Magical Train for $3. Shop the Holiday Market with vendors open until 11 p.m. Visit the Akron History Exhibit & American Toy Marble Museum until 9 p.m. and create ice skate and mitten ornaments. Visit beautiful, exciting and interactive window displays created by talented local artists Inda Blatch-Geib, Julie Hogarth and Mark Soppeland in collaboration with Akron Public Schools After School Program, The National Inventor’s Hall of Fame STEM School for Learning, community members and the Downtown Akron Partnership. These stimulating installations combine artistic vision with the talents of young people to create a beautification project that captures the vibrancy, energy and “buzz” of our Downtown neighborhood. These windows are on display, enhancing the walkable Downtown environment next to the Civic Theatre on Main Street!
